Description: This is an 6 hour course that is required for ALL new NRA Instructors and those wishing to add new Ratings after having completed the BIT more than a year since their last rating was completed. This Course is used to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ATTITUDE necessary to organize and conduct NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses.
The BIT course teaches you how to use the latest teaching techniques in applying Learning Objectives and use of the 8 fundamental requirements to train people using Total Participant Involvement (TPI) through role playing. team teaching, practical exercise, the optimal use of training aids and positive re-enforcement of students. It also cover details on organizing you classes, the use of non-verbal communication, presenting lessons and evaluating training results.
Instructor Candidates will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide and must score a 90% or higher on the open book BIT Examination before being allowed to enter into a specific Certified Rating (Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun…e.t.c.).
