NRA Instructor Pistol Shooting Course

NRA PistolDescription: This 10-hour course (BIT included if needed) teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course.

Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as any NRA instructor. Prior to the Instructor Training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire then complete and pass the Student Basic Pistol Open Book test with a score >80%. You must also demonstrate your firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises, including a shooting skills test before or during the Course to continue in the Pistol Instructor Course.

Description: Course is presented in three parts: the NRA Basic Student Pistol Course, the Basic Instructor Training (B.I.T.) adds 6 hours if needed, and then Pistol specific Instructor training. Instructor Candidates must demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide and the NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet.

NRA Instructor COMBO Course Pistol and Home Firearm Safety Courses

Description:  At times we will offer a weekend that combines a Dual Instructor Certification offering for both the NRA Pistol and Home Firearms Safety.  These are combined for 15 hours of course work that teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting and also the NRA’s Home Firearm Safety Courses. Instructor Candidates can sign up for either course individually or use the form below and sign up for both courses when offered and save time and money and if successfully completed receive two NRA Certifications.
